About Justine & Rai
Justine and Rai are an award-winning Midwestern Malaysian creative duo from opposite sides of the world whose partnership has lasted longer than most marriages.
In their nearly 15 years together, they’ve launched global brand platforms, TV networks, shows, hotels, and products from smartphones to energy drinks in unconventional ways– from turning a beloved animated holiday classic into a school musical for Macy’s to serving up the new hands-free Google Pixel 4 in a pizza box. They’ve created the first GPS for kids, debuted an episodic retail-ality show featuring Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber, and launched a streaming network with a viral music video. Among their greatest achievements is attempting to eat donuts in the presence of their hero, Dr. Maya Angelou, without getting jelly and flakes of glaze all over their shirts.
Their work has been recognized globally, earning Cannes Lions, Clio Awards, One Show Pencils, and something called a Gold Ciclope, which they’re not entirely sure but they hope is a one-eyed monster. They’ve been featured in The New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, Billboard, Complex, and Fast Company, among others.
In their spare time, they WhatsApp each other about books, true crime docs, and their mutual love for Olivia Coleman. When they aren’t WhatsApping, Rai spends time with her home husband, Carl, and their two beautiful girls, Safira and Soraya. Justine writes comedy for humor sites, including McSweeney’s and The Weekly Humorist, and impulse buys dog sweaters and puffer vests that her dog Enzo refuses to wear.
